Why “MARTI”?

My dad, Nick Bickner introduced me to Delbert Mann’s Marty as soon as he though I was old enough to appreciate the film.

My dad, a Bronx boy, identifed with Ernest Borgnine‘s Marty Piletti. The character, though not exactly like my father, has always reminded me of my father’s gentel akwardness.

My dad died in 2021 and I miss him every day. The MARTI Metdtata Framework is dedicated to his memory. I think he would have dug it.
